PhD. candidates are tasked with conducting an independent research project at the Institute of Classical Archaeology, in cooperation with their PhD. supervisor. They are encouraged to apply for grants and collaborate with other researchers in order to produce quality results that are innovative and valuable in their field of specialization. A PhD. degree is awarded upon successful completion of the Final Rigorous Examination (rigorosum) and the successful defense of a doctoral dissertation.
